DESCRIPTION

Aggreko, a global leader in temporary power and temperature control solutions, approached us with a requirement for the development of an e-Learning module to support the implementation of the new procurement process.

 

To gain a deeper understanding of Aggreko’s requirements and training goals, we conducted several consultation sessions and workshops with their team. During these interactions, we discovered that learners would be better served by breaking down the content into smaller, more focused modules.

 

Based on the insights gathered from the consultations, we proposed a refined solution consisting of six smaller eLearning modules. The modules were categorized as follows:

 

Three Short eLearning Modules
These modules focused on specific topics, allowing learners to grasp the content more effectively.

 

Software Training Module
This module aimed to provide comprehensive training on specific software utilized within Aggreko’s operations.

 

Procurement Process Tool
This interactive module facilitated learning about the procurement process, enabling employees to understand and navigate it efficiently.

 

Explainer Video
As an engaging and informative addition, an explainer video was developed to provide a visual overview of key concepts.

 

To develop the eLearning modules, we utilized Articulate Storyline, a popular authoring tool known for its versatility and interactive capabilities. This choice ensured seamless integration with Aggreko’s existing learning management system (LMS) and provided a user-friendly experience for learners.

 

Throughout the development process, we followed the 5Di framework, which consists of five stages: Discover, Define, Design, Develop, and Deploy. This framework allowed us to align our development process with Aggreko’s specific requirements and ensured a structured and iterative approach to module creation.

 

To optimize learner engagement, we employed the Absorb-Do-Connect framework for content writing. This approach aimed to maximize information absorption by presenting key concepts, facilitating hands-on practice activities, and promoting connection with real-world scenarios. By incorporating these elements, we ensured that learners could apply their newly acquired knowledge effectively.

 

SUMMARY

Through collaboration, extensive consultation, and the use of appropriate frameworks and tools, we successfully developed and built an eLearning module for Aggreko. The refined solution, comprising three short eLearning modules, a software training module, a procurement process tool, and an explainer video, met Aggreko’s training objectives while offering a comprehensive and engaging learning experience. The integration of Articulate Storyline and the adherence to the 5Di and Absorb-Do-Connect frameworks ensured a seamless development process and an effective end product. Aggreko employees can now access a robust eLearning solution that enhances their knowledge and skills, contributing to their professional growth and overall organizational success.
